Several family members were along the route to cheer me to the finish line. I was flooded with memories the entire 26.2 miles. I think a lot about how it would be a GREAT way to end my marathoning career and then I start thinking about number 24!!
On Saturday, February, 9, 2013, I completed my 23rd marathon in a time of 5:27:38. The marathon route ran from Lake Chicot, Lake Village, AR to Greenville, MS. It was not my best marathon or my worst marathon but it was my most enjoyable marathon.

I have always been proud to be a Cabot Cruiser (running & biking club) but at last night's meeting when I realized all that we do for the community I realized just how proud I really am. Below are just some of the things that the Cabot Cruiser's do for the community, I am sure I have missed some:
Litter Pickup since 2001 every quarter (hwy 89 - 1 mile) Summer Track Night's for the kids (6 weeks) Inspiration Run - once a year 26.2 miles to all school to promote healthy lifestyle Leaders for the Women Can Run clinic (10 weeks a year) Spring Fling 5K where proceeds go to Cabot PE4Life Ms. Vic's bike ride - everyone brings a donation for Cabot Animal Shelter Cabot Cruiser Christmas Party - everyone brings a winter item for the needy (sorry can't remember organization this goes to) So if you live in Cabot and you see us running or biking the streets please remember we are also doing many great things for our community also :) |
